So what is Music Remyx and why should you, the music podcaster, sign up? Lets go back about two years ago, there was a show called Podshow Music Rewind where it featured all of the best music from PodShow shows. Several months later they started allowing any music podcaster to submit a clip. Now, that show as it was is gone. It left a hole in another option for show promotion. While there is AMP and their show AMPed, you have to pay a yearly $20 fee to join. While this isn’t much, there are some podcasters that would have to choose between membership and formula for the kid.
We want to build on what PodShow Music Rewind was and decentralize it so that one person isn’t doing all of the work. Thus this show is born. Music Remyx (MusicRemix.com was taken by a spammer, will be working on getting that later) is the vision of Mike Wills of Mike’s Hotdish and Jimi Lee of Indie Radio Chattanooga. We have build this free of any network affiliation and the media will be hosted by Podango. We don’t want to be the only two running this. We want to split this among several people so that this show doesn’t become dependent on one person.
We would like all submitters to do a show once in a while, if possible, and we are hoping to have enough people that we can be flexible for everyone involved and still push out a show regularly. All submitters will get link love in the blog roll, and all hosts have the option of having the album art for their show on display to help drive traffic to your site.
So what do you need to do now? Sign up on the site. It is free! We are working on some things like standards and some workflow stuff to make this run as smooth as possible. When you sign up, we will also add you to the mailing list we will use to communicate to all members of this community.
